Yes. It's the Samsung Galaxy Note N7000. The older sibling of the GREAT Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7100. The one that you might even forgotten since everyone focusing on the BRAND NEW NOTE 2. Everyday I watched the advertisement on the TV on how great is Note 2 and there are so many features in comparing to the older sibling. Frankly, I find the ad a bit annoying since I am still using the Galaxy Note N7000. And I am sure some of you feels the same too. My wild guess is some even go to the extent to complains as the lack of the new features make the older Note become obsolete.
So, what's the update?
Erm .. . from what I have read, Samsung finally announced the Galaxy Note N7000 finally getting Jelly Bean. However, it won't be the 4.1.1 but the newer version of 4.1.2. The Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 will get the so-called Premium Suite (similar to the one the Galaxy S III is getting). The update will bring the Project Butter smoothness and Google Now assistant. In addition to those, Samsung will give you plenty of new features to enjoy. Some of the new features users will be getting
MultiView (the unique "two apps on the screen" feature)
Popup versions of the Note
Video and Browser apps
Handwriting support in the S Planner and Email
Enhanced S Note app
Photo Note
Easy Clip
Paper Artist
and a few more
Those who wish to learn more about those features can click here.
Great. When can I update to the new firmware? Since Samsung officially announced it, I "think" we should be getting the OTA updates in the next few weeks.
I knows it's Christmas but just a short update on the current stocks for the iPhone 5 offered by Digi.
In the website it's stated that All Models Available, but only if you buy online. If you prefer to get one from the Digi Centre in your area. You better think twice. Most outlets are out of stocks while some are selling fast.
Below are the current stock level in respective outlets as at 3pm, 24th Dec 2012.
Wanna risk? Other options?? Just order online. It's the fastest and easiest way to order. It just CLICK and CLICK and CLICKs.
Hi guys. Christmas is just around the corner. Have you bought all the presents you need to buy? If not, probably it's time to get some from the store. But be extra careful of pickpockets since there are many of them working now since all the shopping malls are packed with shoppers.
For those who likes to shop online (like me nowadays), perhaps you would like to share some experiences.
As for my experience, the many reason I prefer to shop online
I can check out all the prices before deciding where to buy. Some seller are offering bargains on their products. And no one to show me their "Black Face" if I decided not to buy from them.
I can check the differences between brands, review and other information on the internet while I browse online. I am not going to walk and surf while doing a retail shopping right?
Convenient. I can shop anytime I like with just a few clicks and the transaction done.
It's safe. It's true that we heard a lot of Online Frauds. Online Scams, Item received different from the one ordered, Items not received, Missing items and etc. All these prevents people to buy online. But ask those who frequently buys online. How many of them actually experience it? Not me. As long as you take precautions measure, you can minimise the risk. Read my upcoming blog on how to shop safely.
More options on payment. Bank Transfer / Paypal / Credit Cards. You name it. Although I prefer using paypal or bank transfer. Never feel comfortable disclosing my credit card details.
Above are some of the main reasons I shop online. Oh... and one more thing but this is quite personal feeling, I like it when I bought something and anxiously waiting for it reach me. Trust me, it's really some different experiences. Especially when you buy something new. You will blog about it, facebooking about it and talks about it. And when the moment you received the parcel, you impatiently sign and quickly open it. This is something I never felt when buying from a retail store. Try it. And while blogging, I am waiting for my pre-ordered Google Nexus 4 from USA!!! I have been waiting for almost 3 weeks and it's driving me nuts!!! Haha..
Things that I bought online so far
Branded Bags
Mobile Phones
Mobile Phone Accessories
Tablets
Power Bank
Kindle E-Reader
Clock
Name Cards
Movie tickets
Books
And many more......
Some of the items I bought Online and just around me now
Some sites I frequently window shop / shops. ( Those listed are frequently visited/shopped, they did not pay me to advertise, yet)
Occasionally I also get some of the stuff from Lowyat forums. But buying from forums you need extra precaution as most sellers are freelance. Some pricing are too good to be true. So make sure you get as much info before bank in your money.
Share if you have more websites which you frequently shops. Just leave a comment below.
Sorry for the long M.I.B. (Missing in Blogging). Was busy with work since it's the end of the year. Now that I managed to squeezed some time out, I would like to share some info.
microUSB
A microUSB receptacles are designed for up to 10,000 cycles of insertion and removal between the receptacle and plug, compared to 1,500 for the standard USB and 5,000 for the Mini-USB receptacle.
If you are charging your phone once a day, then the charging port and your charger should be able to last for approx. 27 years. (10,000 times / 365 days). But if you are charging it every time you get to the car (in-car charger), Office or even outdoors (via power bank), then it will shorten the durability of the charging port and charger.
So for mobile phones users, the more you plug and unplug your phone to the charger, the faster your charging port need to be replace. (But i guess it will take at least 5-10 years unless you are a super heavy user)
Battery
We all knows the role of a battery in a phone. But how much do you know about your battery? For your information, the standard technology for battery being used in mobile phones is Lithium-ion polymer batteries. This type of batteries currently provides the best performance for your smartphones. It have a high power density that gives you a long battery life in a light package. And you can recharge a lithium-ion polymer battery whenever convenient, without requiring a full charge or discharge cycle.
As a typical Lithium-ion battery only last about 2 - 3 years or 300 - 500 charge cycles, whichever occurs first, it's wise to know more about it to ensure you do not need to change your battery anytime shorter than the said duration.
Knowing what is a "CYCLE CHARGE" is one way to save your battery. A cycle charge means you charge your phone to 100% and use it to 0% and charge again to 100%. It does not means that every time you plug in the charger, then its consider a cycle. So, please do not worry about overcharging your phone. But do aware that charging it may damage the battery if the temperature is more than 40 degrees. For smartphone users, you can easily download applications to monitor the phone temperature.

I am sure most of you are aware of the New Google Nexus 4. But in case you are not aware due to hectic life, workloads, family commitment, blah blah blah... here are some info.
The new Nexus 4 are the latest Google Phone produced in partnership with LG Mobile. It was supposed to be officially launched on the 26th October 2012 during the Google Event. Unfortunately, the event was called off since Sandy came earlier to US. Who is Sandy anyway, hmm... her full name was Hurricane Sandy. Hurricane Sandy was a tropical cyclone that are very much interested with the Google Event. Many was curious on why I said so... reason? As mentioned, she came in a rush and destroy everything that was in her way.... Haha... Sorry for the lame joke. Anyway, I really feel sorry for those who are affected, let's pray that everything will goes back to normal.
Ok. Enough of Sandy. I should focus on the Nexus 4 since he is the real starring for the day!

Software
Android 4.2 Jelly Bean
Nothing special?
Wait till I drill down to the details...
While Apple was very proud with their Retina Display on the iPhones, the Nexus 4 comes with a WXGA IPS Screen that offers resolution of 320 ppi which is only 6ppi lesser than the new iPhone 5 (326ppi). This would means that with a bigger screen of 4.7", Nexus 4 will definitely impress the on lookers.
As for the battery capacity, it's the same as the Samsung Galaxy S3 at 2100mAh. However, due to the lack of LTE technology with the Nexus 4, it is expected that the battery will last longer than S3 as the current LTE technology are a pure battery drainer. While the speed of LTE are fast, they are also fast in draining the battery capacity. With Google taking off the feature, it might not be a bad idea.
With Android 4.2 Jelly Bean comes as the stock ROM, the Nexus 4 offering better features as compare to the Galaxy S3. With the latest Google Apps, you will be enjoying a brand new experience in using Android. Gone are the days where all the flaws are been seen in the OS, but with Jelly Bean 4.2, you can rest assured that you will be a happier person using the Smartphone.
Another feature of Jelly Bean 4.2 worth to be share is the AMAZING PHOTO SPHERE CAMERA!!! With Nexus 4, you can take a 360 degree panoramic photos !!! This is the 1st phone which offer a full 360 degrees experience. You can even feel that you are there while looking on it.
There are many more features of the LG Nexus 4. For more information, click HERE.
Oh, before I forget, the recommended retail price are USD 299 for the 8GB and USD 349 for the 16GB. Are you going to get one? I sure interested. So let's see how it goes when it reaches our shore. Will grab one if the price is lower than RM1200!
Another Google Flagship phone are knocking on our door. After the the release of HTC Google Nexus One in 2010, it follows with Samsung Galaxy Nexus S in the same year then finally Samsung Galaxy Nexus in November 2011.
Now, the new and highly anticipated Google Phone will be launch on the 29th October 2012. This time Google partner with LG Mobile to launch the LG Nexus 4.
According to the LG Head of Mobile Planning, Amit Gujral, the new Nexus 4 will comes with a 4.7" 1280 x 768 pixels display, 2GB RAM, 1.5GHz Quad Core Processor, 8MP Camera and up to 16GB internal storage. Again, there won't be any external card slot for your microSD. And the device will run on the NEW ANDROID 4.2
If you are interested with more upcoming news, stay tune for the Official Google Event on the 29th October 2012.
Here are some photos of the Google Flagship Nexus phones.
With the launching of the Fourth Generation iPad, the New iPad (or should I just say iPad 3 since its no longer the new one) was going to push aside.
Here some updates.
Apple Store Malaysia
The New iPad was taken down from the online store. Not sure if they are going to drop the price since the 4th Generation are coming, If they do, I am pretty sure the iPad 2 price is going down again.
Celcom
With the launching of the new Ipad 4, Celcom has dropped the price of the iPad 3. You can now get one from RM798, but of course there will be some terms and conditions.
Maxis
Again, Celcom was not alone. Apparently Maxis also drop the price of the iPad 3 at the same time. Now, with just RM999 and above, you can sign up for a iPad 3 on a 24-months contract.
So, are tempted to get one or you willing to wait for the new iPad 4? Or are you going to go for the iPad Mini?
We heard about rumours that Apple is going to launch the iPad 4 since last year. The launch was never materialised until this morning. Together with the launching of iPad Mini, Apple also launch the Fourth Generation iPad.
While the design of the new iPad 4 looks the same as the iPad 3 which launched few months ago, Apple upgraded the its processor with the new A6X chip and implementing the lightning connector that debuted in the new iPhone 5. it is said that the new processor delivers up to 2 times the CPU and graphic performance of the A5 chip, while maintaining the same 10 hours of battery life. The new Fourth Generation iPad also comes with the same colour as the iPad 3 and at the SAME PRICING!! The pre-order starts on the 26th October 2012 through the Apple Online Store in US, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK. (Again, Malaysia was not on the 1st batch list… but i think we all expected this. :( ) For those who just got their iPad 3, probably they are cursing it now. In US, Apple was offering those new buyer of the iPad 3 to upgrade to the new iPad 4 at no additional cost. The conditions was that the must be bought less than 30 days before the announcement of iPad 4 and the condition of the iPad must be good. Not sure if Apple Malaysia will have the same offer in the future. So guys, keep our finger crossed. Now… I'm in dilemma on which iPad should i buy… iPad Mini or the full sized iPad 4…
Not sure if any of you stayed up last night for the Apple Event. If you did, then you probably already know that Apple just launched few products last night. Or even if you did not, probably you already knew this as well through various social networks.
Yup. Apple just launched the long rumoured iPad Mini. With a gorgeous 7.9-inch display, the iPad mini features the same number of pixels as the original iPad and iPad 2 at 1024x768. This means you can run all your existing apps on your iPad, iPad 2, the new iPad without any problem.
According to Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of worldwide Marketing… “iPad mini is as thin as a pencil and as light as a pad of paper, yet packs a fast A5 chip, FaceTime HD and 5 megapixel iSight cameras and ultrafast wireless―all while delivering up to 10 hours of battery life.” The iPad Mini comes in with the options as the full sized iPad. Wifi only - 16GB / 32GB / 64GB Wifi + Cellular - 16GB / 32GB / 64GB Colour - Same as the new iPhone 5. Black / Slate & White / Silver Here is a video of the iPad Mini Keynote.
Lately, it's been quite on the iPad mini. This particularly due to the HYPE on the Android and Samsung. With the LAUNCHING of Samsung Galaxy Note II N7100 and the RELEASE of the Android 4.1 a.k.a. Jelly Bean for Samsung Galaxy SIII, things have been pretty quite for Apple.
We talk about the rumours of the launch of iPad mini on the 10th October but it seems that the news remained as a rumour. Bit disappointed with it and it came across my mind, probably they are not going to release the "mini" this year. But surprisingly, hours after the Galaxy Note launch in Malaysia, the rumours of iPad mini arise again. And this time on scheduled on the 23rd October 2012. Although invitations and venue of the date was not announced, but it seems the industry players are aware of it.
Let's hope the event will be confirmed and the rumoured iPad "mini" 7.85" will be release at the soonest date.

We heard that iPad Mini was supposed to be launch some time in this month (October). According to macrumours.com, this is what was published in the page. According to a very sketchy report from Philip Elmer-DeWitt at Apple 2.0, Apple could besending out invitations to the launch event for the iPad mini on October 10. DeWitt notes that it's a "rumor we have no reason to believe" except that it came from a major Apple investor.
According to our source, who asked not be named, there appears to be some truth to the widespread rumors that Apple is preparing to launch a smaller and cheaper version of the iPad -- often called the iPad mini or iPad air and usually described as having a 7.85-inch screen.
What our source adds is the specificity of a date: The press, he says, can expect invitations to go out on Oct. 10.
So, how reliable the rumours are? Stay tune for the next updates….
